In Somerset
Kentucky is #1 in the United States in Spousal and Child Abuse and Child Deaths Help us stop the torture now!

We have become the abuse capital of our country and we live
in the famous BIBLE BELT, how can this be ? Where are you Mr
Minister ?  Where are all the men of God that address their congregations every Sunday.  The abused need your voices. The abused remain silent because of fear. It is time we open our eyes
and acknowledge that we have a serious abuse problem. Keeping our eyes closed will not make the problem go away. We need
help from everyone. Yes, especially YOU ELECTED OFFICIALS !!
It is imperative that ELECTED OFFICIALS speak with a louder voice regarding this inhumane insanity. Silence of the lambs,
perhaps ? Stand tall, cast a shadow. Cast a shadow of concern.

IF YOU NEED ASSISTANCE CALL OR
EMAIL US. WE WILL STAND WITH YOU.

We are seeking advocates to help us spread the the word that
abuse in Kentucky will no longer be accepted as a way of life. Those  times are now gone forever. We need help in bringing this new attitude to the forefront of our daily lives. We must address this matter with the abused in mind. If you wish to volunteer your time please contact us. We need you. Kentucky needs you.

THE ABUSER IS NOTHING MORE
THAN A LOW LIFE AND A SORRY
           BOTTOM FEEDER.

Harsh words perhaps, yet deserving. Dignity, honor and respect
must be paramount in any relationship.
From the Pulpit to the Board meeting room to the School Auditorium and to the entire judicial system it's important that
we, you and I, must educate to eradicate this dreadful plague that we have allowed to grow among us. Yes we have allowed it to grow.

Yes, we have allowed to grow because this year the toll was higher than last. It's growing and only you and I can stop it. If we don't your child will someday be next. It's just a matter of time, your choice.
The Memorial was sad especially when the the bell would toll for each name that was called. It went on and on, 39 times. The names were all familiar. Judy, Mary, Susan, Maria, Linda, names just like yours. I noticed that the attendees were mostly staff from  and other supporting agencies and a few former clients of  that have made a successful transition to acquire their self esteem once again.
The one person that I did not see there was you. But I'm sure you care. I'm sure you care so you must have been busy. Maybe you can be there next year and help with the count.

Personal notes from the founder of this website to anyone that has suffered abuse.

I AM GREAT, I AM TERRIFIC, AND ON A BAD DAY, I AM FANTASTIC !

THE SUN COMES UP EACH MORNING GIVING US ALL ONE MORE
CHANCE.

UNLIKE THE MONA LISA I WILL NEVER LOSE MY SMILE AGAIN.

Just a few words to remind you how IMPORTANT YOU ARE !!

I AM SAD TO MENTION THAT BY THE TIME THE ABOVE LIST WAS PUBLISHED IT WAS ALREADY OBSOLETE. MORE WOMEN HAVE PERISHED IN ABUSIVE SITUATIONS HERE IN KENTUCKY.
I WAS ALSO SAD TO NOTE THAT LIKE LAST YEAR NOT MANY PEOPLE ATTENDED THE MEMORIAL FOR THE ABOVE NAMED LADIES. THIS YEAR THE MEMORIAL WAS HELD IN THE SHADOW OF THE BRAND NEW JUDICIAL BUILDING IN SOMERSET
AND ONCE AGAIN I DID NOT SEE A SINGLE ELECTED OFFICIAL FROM THE CITY, COUNTY, OR STATE.
